How you transport the table structure might dictate your options, though - my table was made with the surround/ball return structure as a single piece, so that was about 10' x 6' and thus not really suited for self-hauling. I wouldn't stack the slate without proper crating, but you could easily put one piece down on some blankets with cushioning around the edges and drive it yourself. If you really wanted to save money, you could haul it yourself one slate piece at a time in a pickup or minivan. Billiard Factory also offers used pool tables for sale. A game room worthy of the pros awaits you. Round out the ambience with custom pool table lights and accessories like billiard balls, cue racks and more. Create the perfect atmosphere with billiard tables such as the timeless Oakmont Collection or The Belfast. The length of the move is irrelevant if you are hiring a company - they will be crating it the same for a 70-mile journey as for a 3000-mile journey. Complete your home with classy pool tables and handpicked pool table supplies. I am hoping to find a moving company that can pick it up from my Aunt's basement and bring it to my house. For the quality of table that I have, it was worth it (it's a 1960s Brunswick with internal ball return). It would have been more if they'd had to take out the stairs at my mom's house, but luckily they were able to wrangle it at an angle once they got the slate un-mounted and out of the table bed. I think the move on my table cost almost $2000 all told, including the final setup at my house.

1960 BRUNSWICK POOL TABLES HOW TO
There was literally one guy in my area who knew how to relevel and reseam my 3-piece 3/4" slate table after moving it (from Virginia to Seattle), and he brought two other guys with him to learn how since they don't see them often. Further adding to the difficulty is actually FINDING a tech on the recipient's side who can handle a 3-piece slate table, as apparently most modern tables are wood pieces with a thin single piece of slate on top. You will also need a specialist moving company that can handle the packaging and transportation of large, heavy, yet delicate pieces of slate that make up the pool table bed. You'll need to hire two sets of pool table techs - one at the originating end to take it apart and package it correctly, and one at the receiving end to put it back together, level it, beeswax the slate seams, and refelt it.
